Selections must be made form the current NYSSMA manual. All Instrumental and vocal students applying for participation in Conference All-State must audition at the Spring NYSSMA Evaluation Festival. A chaperone must accompany students on a school bus when attending any WCSMA function.Ī. Senior high students will be chosen from grades 10-12.ħ. Intermediate Festival students will be chosen from grades 7-9. Instrumental students and vocal students for the Elementary Festival will be chosen from grades 4-6. All elementary, intermediate and senior high instrumental students will have to audition for participation in the band, orchestra or jazz ensemble.Ħ. Directors are encourage to explore the possibility of having their school boards take out memberships for their music department personnel.ĥ. They must be a member in good standing of the school organization, which corresponds to the WCSMA organization for which they are auditioning.Ĥ. They must attend school daily in Westchester County. Students must have the approval of their school music teachers in order to be eligible for auditions for state and county sponsored festivals. All applications must be submitted by the students’ school music instructor and not by the private teachers.ģ. Vocal students’ listings must be submitted by the deadline also.

Many high school musicians prepare all year long to be adjudicated on their NYSSMA solo. Students who achieve such a score are invited to attend the NYSSMA All-State Conference. Larisa achieved one of the highest accolades a high school musician can achieve: a perfect score on a Level 6 NYSSMA Solo.
